Preemie Angle blankets & hats

This is what I've been up to all week, working on Preemie blanket/hat sets.

I am using Caron's Natura Pounder yarn in the baby print for the tiny blankets & hats.  With one skein, I got 3 blanket/hat sets, and one cocoon/hat set.  The blankets are approximately 14" square as requested, and the hats are tiny, sized with a preemie size chart.

All proceeds from my patterns are going for more yarn to make more of these.  The hospital need more preemie blankets, and those I enjoy making~

These are the first batch;

After I take them to the hospital I will find out if the pouch is the right size.  It's so tiny that just looking at it makes me sad that a life was lost so early, the blankets hit me the same way.

So now I am working on some Angel Pouches, tho that is not the name the designer gave it, I just can't stand to even type the correct name.  It is beautiful and I hope will bring some consulation to the parents they go to.
This is a link to the Angel Pouch pattern, in case you want to make some for your hospital too.

This type of request is a hard one to fill, but God has put you in the place you are to fill a need and provide comfort.

Last Sept. 19, my little man came into this world 7 weeks early. He was born with some health issues, and stayed in the NICU for 33 days. (He is now doing great with some monitoring from the doctors, he is almost 10 month). While we were in the NICU, in the first days we were contacted by some wonderful people that gave us support through this time. There were several organizations that had made gifts for all the little angles that were in the NICU. I never realized there were so many people that gave support through their homemade gifts. As a parent I felt the care, thoughts, and prayers from these strangers. You are a wonderful person for giving where you are truely needed. I have sent thanks to the ones that have touched us personally. I thank you for giving for those that I don't know.

I haven't commited to a crochet project in a while, and I am looking forward to getting back in the practice. When I do, I want to make these special creations to the future little angels that are in need of the gifts that God will lead my hands to creat. I am so glade that I stumbled up on your site. :)

Thank you Sharon. You are right, it is hard to fill the requests for more preemie and Angel wraps. I lost my first two babies and every stitch I make reminds me of them. But the rewards of thinking that maybe someone will feel the love in each stitch, is worth the memories they bring.
